At AirlinePrep we offer unique Airline Pilot Skills Assessment courses designed to guide you to becoming a commercial airline pilot. Before investing a considerable amount of money in flight training, you should discover if you have the trainability and employability skills to obtain a job on completion of training.
Our skills assessment is built upon two core criteria which will determine your suitability to become an airline pilot:
Trainability – is a measure of your aptitude to complete either an integrated or modular flight training course & subsequently go on to pass an airline type rating.
Employability – is a measure of your personal skills and attributes to become an effective part of a flight deck and crew team.
It’s important to note that obtaining your frozen ATPL isn’t a right to a job as a commercial pilot! Ultimately you, the individual is who the airline are assessing at an airline pilot interview and your previous work & extra curricular experiences will determine if you have the relevant competencies (communication, leadership, team, workload & decision making) to become a valued member of their team. In other words you can be ‘trainable but not employable’, which is why you should consider one of our assessment options.

Option 1
‘Trainability’
Aspiring Pilot Psychometric Testing

These tests are designed to predict, at an early stage, your future performance within the pilot training programme. This package contains all the aptitude tests you would be expected to take during the process of becoming an Ab-Initio pilot. Made up of a range of tests that cover Maths, Physics, Reasoning and Personality. The tests should take three and a half hours to complete.
You will be required to undertake the following tests within the assessment package:
- ADAPT Personality Questionnaire
- Cognitive Reasoning
- FAST
- Maths
- Physics
- English
- 30-minute feedback session with an AirlinePrep assessment specialist
Option 2
‘Employability’
Aspiring Pilot Employability Course

On this half day course you’ll have the undivided attention of one of our airline pilot recruitment experts, who can guide you through the various pilot training options and assess your skills and competencies so as to offer you the best advice about how you can have a successful career as an airline pilot. The course includes:
- Guidance on the training options available to aspiring pilots
- An assessment of your current skill set and advice on how to improve your employability
- An insight into the role of an airline pilot
- An informal interview
- Exposure to a group exercise
- Numerical, verbal & scientific reasoning tests
- Written feedback report and personalised development plan
Option 3
‘Trainability & Employability’
Options 1 and 2 – the full package

This course will provide you with full developmental feedback on your suitability to be come an airline pilot! You’ll complete the aspiring pilot psychometric testing in your own time at home and then receive your 30 minute feedback session with one of our assessment specialists, who will guide you through the results of your report.
Then you’ll spend half a day with one of our team, going through all of the training outlined in option 2.
By the end of this course you’ll have all the developmental feedback to ensure you make the best choices for your career as an airline pilot!
Our airline pilot psychometric tests are created by Symbiotics, the leading supplier of pilot aptitude and psychometric assessments and are used by flight schools and airlines from around the World. These tests meet the criteria laid down by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency meaning that you can be assured that the feedback you receive is of the highest quality. Depending on which option you choose, we will then be in a position where we can accurately and honestly deliver feedback about whether you have the correct ability level in order to commence your flying training, or whether you have the ability to pass an airline academy assessment.
Crucially, if you require development, we will offer you training, help and advice so that you have the knowledge and direction to work on your pilot specific skill set. You will leave our courses with the confidence that you are well placed for success, or with the correct building blocks in place for you to move forward and achieve your airline pilot career goals!
